GILBERT, ARIZONA – Kirk Adams and his campaign for Congress are proud and honored to announce Governor Sarah Palin will be in the Grand Canyon State Monday, August 27th, to support Kirk Adams. The Grassroots event will include live music and a family BBQ. The event is free and open to everyone.
The BBQ is set to start at 3:30 pm and will be held at Joe’s Farm Grill in Gilbert, AZ. Adams and Palin will be serving the food as a way of saying thank you for all the support and encouraging people to get out and vote. Accompanied with the food will be refreshments, live music and several other local candidates.
Adams received the endorsement of Governor Palin on August 2nd and Palin’s support and energy has spread throughout the district. As momentum builds for Kirk Adams, it’s clear that he is the only candidate in the race who will bring the commonsense, conservative values, that he and Gov. Palin share, to Washington, DC.
“I am so grateful to have Governor Palin’s support and very excited to say she will be joining me to participate in our BBQ. Governor Palin stands up for common sense American values. I am honored to have her endorsement and am so grateful for her valuable time coming to Gilbert at this critical time in the campaign,” Adams said. “We are looking forward to thanking every individual for the help they have given over the course of this campaign and ask for their vote on Tuesday in this critical election to continue our tidal wave of momentum.”

During campaign season, a lot of politicians talk about creating jobs. But most don’t have a record of creating jobs or passing policies that unshackle job creators. As Speaker of the Arizona House, I authored and passed the Arizona Competitiveness Package, also known as the Jobs Bill. A recent article in the Arizona Republic outlines the positive results of the law. A few highlights of the article are below.
Business Facilities magazine has ranked Arizona No. 1 nationally for new-business start-ups, largely on the shoulders of property-tax reforms and regulatory reforms that reduce costs for new businesses.
“That made me more pleased than anything,” said Kirk Adams, a former Republican House speaker who sponsored the pro-business tax reforms and now is running for Congress. “Arizona being Number 1 for new start-ups showed that our broad-based reforms really helped us right away.”
Interim CEO Sandra Watson told Site Selection magazine in May that the Adams-sponsored reforms passed in February 2011 — known as the Arizona Competitiveness Package — spawned “a 350 percent increase in projects that we are working on at a state level.”
Do you believe Washington needs results like these? I do. And I know that I can take common sense Arizona solutions to Washington. Please vote Kirk Adams next Tuesday, August 28th.
Salmon Listed as Obamacare Lobbyist on 7 Different Documents
Today, Matt Salmon revealed that he lobbied for the expansion of Obamacare. Salmon says that his former firms were hired to “change a provision in the proposed law which would have restricted access of people with some rare form of disease from getting the appropriate drug therapy.” A really long Washington way of saying, they actually lobbied to expand the bill by expanding drug coverage. Only a Washington lobbyist could work to make a bill larger, and then claim, with a straight face, that he didn’t support its passage.
Salmon says that he didn’t personally lobby on Obamacare. I’m sure he wishes this were true, but unfortunately his name is listed on 7 different disclosure documents under, “name of each individual who acted as a lobbyist in this issue area.” Washington lobbyists like Salmon can find many ways to justify such doublespeak, but Arizonans know that if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck – it’s a duck.
The companies that Salmon represented were both members of PhRMA, which spent more than $150 million to secure Obamacare’s passage. The truth is, that instead of opposing the bill, Matt Salmon was paid to make sure the pharmaceutical special interests got their cut.
